Hotel Description
  • The story of the Monte Rosa ("Laubersche Herberge") dates back to the year 1839 when it only had 3 rooms. 1855 the Monte Rosa, as we know it today, started with 35 beds and laid the foundation of the Seiler Hotels. The Hotel Monte Rosa, centrally located in the village, is the oldest and most traditional hotel of Zermatt. It has all the comforts of a modern first-class hotel with 8 single-, 12 Standard-, 20 Superior- and 3 Deluxe rooms as well as 4 Suites. The 47 comfortable rooms comply with the high Seiler Hotel standard. The pine lounge, the Whymper salon and the Salon Bleu with fireplace, enhance the cosy atmosphere of this typical Swiss hotel. Entertainment may be found in the billiard room and in the Montrose Bar. The ambiance at the hotel is one of friendly informality, with the original atmosphere of a traditional Swiss Alpine hotel. All guests enjoy free entrance to the heated indoor swimming pool and the wellness area of the Hotel Monte Rosa's sister hotel, Seiler Hotel Mont Cervin. (only approx. 120 meters away) All other services at the Mont Cervin, such as massage, ski-man, etc. are equally at guests' disposal. The historical dining room with its festive atmosphere is one of the most beautiful in the Valais and features molded ceilings and stained glass windows.
