Mini-refrigerators are also available on request and complimentary continental breakfast is served every morning. Enjoy a swim in our heated outdoor swimming pool available in summer months. For your traveling convenience we also offer a coin operated guest laundry and vending machine area that is available 24 hours a day. Clovis is home to the BNSF Railway System, Cannon Air Force Base, Curry County Livestock Auction and many historical sites including the Black Water Draw Museum, 12 miles east on Highway 70. Black Water Draw has been the site of ongoing archaeological research and discoveries since 1932 regarding "early Clovis man" who is thought to have inhabited the area 11,000 years ago along with the woolly mammoth, camel, saber tooth tiger, dire wolf and other extinct animals. While in the Clovis area, visitors are invited to play a round of golf, visit the second largest zoo in New Mexico or take a journey into the past at the Clovis Depot Model Train Museum. Clovis is also home to the Norman Petty Recording Studios known world wide as the place where Buddy Holly recorded the smash hit, "Peggy Sue" back in the 50's. Since then, many other famous recording artists have used Petty Studios, including Roy Orbison, the Fireballs who recorded "Sugar Shack", the number 1 single in 1963 and most recently LeAnn Rimes with her overnight hit of "Blue", an old Patsy Cline song.
