These include the End of Lewis & Clark Trail (¼ mile), Fort Clatsop (12 miles) where you can tour the reconstructed 1805-06 winter encampment of Lewis & Clark's Corps of Discovery, Historic Astoria (16 miles) the first settlement west of the Colorado Rockies and home to charming period architecture and the Columbia Maritime Museum. Or, you might just want to curl up in front of the fireplace, read a good book, or enjoy the ever-changing moods of the powerful Pacific Ocean. Salvatore's Café serves authentic italian food in a lively and colorful family atmosphere, serving pasta dishes, thin-crust pizzas, appetizers, soups, salads and traditional American fare. Sal's Pub features a variety of draft and bottled beers, varietal wines from Italy, Oregon, Washington and California as well as assorted spirits. The pub is the North Coast's only non-smoking lounge. Turn left on 1st Avenue (at library, two streets past second traffic light). Cross the river, turn right on Downing. Turn left on 4th Avenue. Go one block to the Best Western Ocean View Resort. ·From east: Take Highway 26 West from Portland fro 75 miles. Turn north on Highway 101 at Seaside. Turn left on 1st Avenue (at library, two streets past second traffic light). Cross the river, turn right on Downing. Turn left on 4th Avenue. Go one block to the Best Western Ocean View Resort.
